Membership of the coalition shall be individual or registered organizations, associations, institutions, or companies that are experts in the field of (Natural, Socio-human, and formal) Sciences; or the client(s) to organization's services.
About NSE Membership
Types of Members
- Founder members: Members who made the initiatives to establish this Organization;
- Ordinary members: Members who join the Organization after its establishment;
- Honorary members: Members who awarded a membership due to their positive contributions to Organization goal.
- Associate members: Individuals, institution, companies, government, and organizations as cooperate or partners.
Member's Rights, Obligations and Benefits
- To elect/vote and be elected/voted in the leadership of the Organization except for honorary members;
- Right to be heard and receive direct support to influence NSEI mechanisms;
- To attend General Meeting and all meetings requires his/her presence;
- Participate in joint activities, events and advocacy to leverage/enlarge personal works and professional networks;
- Receiving information of the Organization progress by any means of communication.
- To pay fees that is prescribed by the General Meeting;
- Contribute to the NSEI strategic development by actively contributing to policies and strategies development;
- Participate in the network’s thematic working groups or initiate a working group on his/her thematic priority;
- To keep secret all matters and decisions of the Organization;
- Receive organization services and capacity building activities at reasonable cost;
Member Commitment
In addition to the basic responsibilities, members are invited to commit to the following:
- Participate in and contribute to the General Assembly, surveys and consultations, and other NSEI events.
- Engage in joint advocacy.
- Participate in and contribute to working groups.
- Share information and good practices with the network and establish links to other networks and coalitions.
- Raise awareness about NSEI to potential new members and donors.
- Raise funds for joint projects.
Member Responsibilities
As a member of NSEI you are responsible to
- Fully adhere to the statutes, organisational policies and rules of NSEI.
- Pay annual membership fee each year in advance of the GA and provide annual budget and accounts of member organisation/coalition.
- Ensure allocation of time/human resources for the engagement with the network, in order to contribute to the strategic objectives.
- Inform NSEI of any significant changes in the organisation, such as change in contact person, name change, change of statutes, vision or mission.
- Inform the Secretariat of their separate work with strategic partners of NSEI, that might be overlapping or conflicting.
Membership Fees and Registration
Membership Fees
Except for honorary members, all members are responsible and committed to the annual membership fee. Membership fees are important contributions to ensure the sustainability of NSEI. They are usually the only unrestricted funds that can be used to build up reserves and to be used in case of financial shortfalls.
With these fees and other contributions, members express their support and commitment to NSEI, which is a key indicator for the relevance of the network for potential new donors.
The amount to be paid by each member organization depends on their annual budget for the year of payment and category of membership
Membership Fee Categories

| Founder Members | 100,000/=to 150,000/= (Tsh per Year) |
Membership fees are to be paid in advance of the General Assembly of the respective year.
Membership Registration
Cessation of Members
Condition To cease a Membership
Members shall cease if any the following happens-
- By resignation;
- Expulsion for misbehavior, failure to adhere to Organization’s resolutions and this Constitution;
- Failure to attend two consecutive General Meeting without reasonable information;
- Incapability to perform his/her obligations due to mental disorder;
- Failure to pay subscription fees for 3 consecutive years;
- Death.
